“i know not—”

Holly Buescher

i know not where to go to and fro to
my eyelashes extra not blown away are wishes
i have blown apart to depart and
dive into the well where coins are free to buy and
by fly on the wall to end all walls breaking down
i break down and out and up away
no end in sight insight found by breaking ground
(no ground-breaking news for new starts)
and downward spiraling spirals out of control
and mission control operators err on the side of caution
(here caution errs on the side of operator errors)
here mistakes are made and untruths unmade
and yet life abounds abundant hope
higher up than i can reach yet i dont reach
down to search for reserves of strength to reserve proof that
i have no need to land yet no need of a perch
no search parties needed for me yet
my body not lying dead lying through my teeth
getting by by the skin of my teeth until
I believe that though hawks have always eaten pigeons
when they have found them when someone has found my
helpless little pigeon they will not hawk it down
but resound that we safe and sound have learned
to fly without operators or control or caution because
though the wind may whip us we have thrown caution
to it and that my friend is greater than any rocket
or any ship.
